Please find below the Commissioners' decisions in relation to planning applications considered by them at their meeting on the 19th March 2009.
The Commissioners had no objection to the following planning applications:
- PA09 00105 B - Mr and Mrs Wilson - Alterations and erection of extensions - River Walk Braddan
- PA09 00122 B - Mrs C Hopkinson - Creation of a menage - Renscault Farm East Baldwin
- PA09 00138 B - Dandara Commercial - Proposed Industrial Starter Units - Land adjacent to EFWP Kewaigue
- PA09 00187 B - Mrs Y Main - Erection of a conservatory to rear elevation - 104 Fairways Drive Mount Murray
- PA09 00193 B - Mr and Mrs Robertson - Installation of replacement windows - 2 Glen View Main Road Union Mills
- PA09 00196 B - Mr R Ferguson - Erection of a detached garage - 6 Ashfield Avenue Union Mills
- PA09 00197 B - Mr M Bettridge - Creation of access road and vehicular access - Eary Veg Farm West Baldwin
- PA09 00221 B - Mr and Mrs R Sweetman - Widen vehicular access and extension to driveway - Ballaoates Road Castleward
- PA09 00249 - SITA (UK) Ltd - Erection of a steel framed extension - EFWP Richmond Hill
- PA09 00286 GB - Mr D Holder - Erection of a satellite dish - 17 Cronkbourne Village Braddan
- PA09 00302 B - Mr and Mrs R Sowerby - Alterations and extensions to dwelling - Fair View Maitland Terrace Union Mills
- PA09 00316 - Eden Park Garden Centre - Display Signage - Cooil Road Braddan
- PA09 00335 B - Cable and Wireless - Erection of antenna and creation of a communications compound - Field 524278 West Baldwin
The Commissioners had an objection to the following planning applications:
- PA09 00230 B - Heritage Homes Ltd - Replacement of 10 previously approved dwellings with 20 - Land adjacent to Ballacottier School. The plan was an over intensive use of the area with a reduction in open space. There is no impact assessment on Ballacottier School, and no opportunities for the buildings, aimed at first time buyers, to be extended. It was also felt that as the company had been in discussions with DoLGE with regard to the provision of first time buyer properties, the matter should be dealt with by the Council of Minister rather than being treated as a standard planning application.
- PA09 00231 B - Heritage Homes Ltd - Replacement of 9 previously approved dwellings with 16 dwellings - Land adjacent to Vicarage Road and opposite Horse and Plough. As above
- PA09 00232 B - Heritage Homes Ltd - Replacement of 11 previously approved dwellings with 17 - Land adjacent to Clybane Rise and Vicarage Road. As above
- PA09 00244 A - Heritage Homes Ltd - Approval in Principle for the erection of 2 dwellings to replace existing farm buildings - Middle Farm Kewaigue. The plan was in contravention of General Policy 3 as it is not aimed at agricultural workers and is not zoned for development. It was also in contravention of Housing Policy 11 relating to conversion of existing buildings, and Housing Policy 14 in that it is substantially different to the dwelling that it is replacing.

Planning Appeals - The Commissioners reconfirmed the previous objections:
- PA08 01752 A - Mr M Freestone - Approval in principle to erect a replacement dwelling - Land adjacent to Rose Cottage Richmond Hill. The Commissioners would defer a decision until investigations had taken place to confirm that the property could be seen as a replacement for something that had been demolished more than 5 years ago.
- PA08 02040 A - Mr D Moore - Erection of a detached dwelling and garage - Land abutting Peel Road opposite the Braddan Church Junction. It was felt that the land was not zoned for residential development and any development would be against in General Policy 3, and may impact on the as set down in General Policy 2 (d) and Environment Policy 7 (d) relating to watercourses.
- PA08 02109 - Mr F O'Neill - Erection of a dwelling/driveway and vehicular access - Plot of land adjacent at Ballacain Cottage Mount Rule. It was agreed that the land was not zoned for development and any development would be against General Policy 3.
