Statement
To Whom it May Concern,
This letter serves to request planning permission for the conversion of an existing outbuilding into ancillary accommodation. The accommodation will be used solely for my elderly parents who are both in their 70's and will remain part of the main house title deed and not converted into a separate title.
We plan to build out a small extension to the existing outbuilding to create a larger living space with separate bathroom and bedroom. The extension will not impact the number of available parking spaces and will not affect vehicle access or pedestrians using Glen Road.
During the purchase of the property from the previous owner - we shared email correspondence with Mr Paul Visigah on the 1st February 2023 who confirmed that there is support within the Strategic Plan for the conversion of outbuildings within an existing curtilage to residential accommodation as indicated in various sections of the 2016 Strategic Plan which sets out the approach to such changes for both traditional and non-traditional properties.
The purchase of the property took place in March 2023 and since then we have engaged with the Isle of Man Government Planning department, submitting a pre-application request for comment on the 25th July 2023 and received a positive reply from Mr Paul Visigah on the 1st August 2023.
We hope that you consider our application favourably and please let me know if you require further information.
Kind Regards,
Gary Wolno
