Introduction
For the past 10 years or so general warehousing and distribution has been a key activity at Heron & Brearley’s Kewaigue site - (PA 04/01947/R) refers.
Whilst from a general operational point of view the day to day requirements for this and other key activities remain largely the same, a recent review of working practices as a whole has established that significant time management and safety improvements can be achieved through the internal re-planning of the spaces that exist together with the incorporation of an additional roller shutter door on the loading bay side of the warehouse.
Proposal – alterations to building
Internally the changes are limited to the removal of non-loadbearing cladding walls for improved manoeuvrability together with the relocation of racking into primarily one easier to supervise and control working space
Externally the proposal is for an additional roller shutter opening to be formed within the existing canopy line of the current loading bay adjacent to the roller shutter that has yet to be installed as previously approved under PA 05/01359/B, together with the associated re-grading of the existing hard standings to achieve a level threshold.
The internal re-planning has been discussed with Douglas Corporation’s Building Control Department and no problems are envisaged in this respect.
