TO: Arragon Construction Ltd, PO Box 382, Douglas, IM99 2XA

In pursuance of his powers under the above Acts and Order the MINISTER for Infrastructure, following report by the appointed person, does hereby REFUSE the application by Arragon Construction Ltd - Erection of ten dwellings with associated parking, Plots 12, 13 and 15-22, Poachers Pocket Development, Bridge Road, Ballasalla for the following reasons:-
- This proposal would constitute a poorly designed development and would result in an unsatisfactory residential environment; in particular –
(a) the buildings would generally be of a height which would not accord with the principle established by condition (12) of the approval granted in respect of PA 02/702; (b) the development would be characterised by limited space around and between the proposed houses, and between the proposed and existing houses; (c) the 2-storey projecting gables would be over-dominant in the street scene; and (d) the use of varied external finishes would result in an incoherent appearance.
