Refusal Decision Notice
Town and Country Planning Act 1999
Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
Mr K Graham 21 Alberta Drive Onchan IM3 1LT
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the Department of Infrastructure does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mrs Henrietta Reeve Proposal: Erection of an extension to provide a garage and additional living accommodation at: Ballachashin Abbeylands Isle of Man IM4 5EG
which was considered on 17th May 2010, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 17th May 2010 Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas
Mrs P Faragher Deputy Secretary to the Planning Committee
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- The proposed extension fails to suitably respect the traditional proportion, form and appearance of the existing building contrary to the provisions of Housing Policy 15 of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007. Furthermore, taking the extension approved under extant previously approved planning application 05/00998/B into account the proposed extension equates to a 92% increase in floor space. Such increase in floor space is further contrary to the provisions of Housing Policy 15 of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007.
This decision was made by the Senior Planning Officer in accordance with the authority delegated to her under Article 3(13) of the Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
