Environment Policy 1
Requires protection of countryside (land outside settlements or undesignated areas) for its own sake, permitting development only if overriding national need outweighs protection with no reasonable alternative. Officer tested if proposal causes material harm to countryside character/appearance; concluded no due to limited visual impact from screening trees and location within established curtilage, thus not compromising policy aims despite scale.
Time limit
The development hereby approved shall be begun before the expiration of four years from the date of this decision notice. Reason: To comply with article 14 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) (No2) Order 2013 and to avoid the accumulation of unimplemented planning approvals.
Use restriction
The building may be used only for the storage of private motor vehicles and items associated with the maintenance and occupation of the site as a whole, including land in the occupants' ownership. Reason: to accord with the justification provided by the applicant for the building.
do not oppose the application
no objection to the application
Highways and Andreas Parish Commissioners raised no objections to the storage building application, while two local residents (E J Callow and Jo Callow) objected citing lack of planning policy justification, inappropriate scale, future use concerns, and drainage issues.
Key concern: lack of planning policy to justify a 'storage' shed of this size in this locality

No Objectionmy Commissioners have considered the above proposed development, and have no objections thereto
E J Callow
ObjectionI can only reiterate the lack of planning policy to justify a 'storage' shed of this size in this locality.; Surely there is a more appropriate locality for such an extensive storage need?; I'm surprised that none of the farmers have expressed concern at having to manage an increase in water draining onto their land.
Jo Callow
ObjectionI wish to record my objection to this application.; The size and location of the building proposed is unjustified, no need is demonstrated (it can only only be assumed being required for 'lifestyle purposes') is not supported by any planning policy.
