Window Amendment Memo
Department Of Infrastructure Planning and Building Control Division ### Memorandum To: Head of Development Management/Director of Planning From: Miss Sarah Corlett, Senior Planning Officer Date: 2nd July, 2015 Re: PA 14/00258/B โ erection of a pair of two storey semi-detached dwellings, plot of land adjacent to 54, Glenfaba Road, Peel ### Description
1.1 The above application was permitted on 23rd June, 2014 subject to a number of conditions
1.2 The plans which were approved include elevations and floor plans which unfortunately show two different window types in respect of the ground floor front windows: the elevations show a simple single sliding sash-style casement 1100mm wide but the ground floor plan shows a wider aperture โ 1800mm wide, internally subdivided into two lights.
Proposal
2.1 The applicant sought clarification of which windows were approved and was advised that the windows shown in the elevation certainly have approval as it was clear to anyone looking at the drawings what was intended. The position in respect of the ground floor plan is less clear as there is nothing to illustrate what the impact of a wider window would be. They were recommended to submit an elevation drawing of the wider window for consideration.
Recommendation
3.1 The elevation drawing illustrates something which is not uncommon on a building of the style proposed and the windows are shown to be uPVC framed sliding sashes.
3.2 Taking into account the inconsistency in the approved drawings and the appearance of the windows now proposed, it is recommended that the windows as shown in the A4 drawing are considered acceptable and in accordance with the original approval.
