Cornerstone Architects 79 Parliament Street Ramsey Isle Of Man IM8 1AQ
In pursuance of the powers under the above Act and Order, Mrs Kate Beecroft MHK, does hereby in the name of and on behalf of the Department, REFUSE planning application 14/00338/B by Callow’s Yard Ltd. for Alterations to create two storey commercial building; conversion of existing apartments to form one town house and one and two bed apartments and the conversion of bar/restaurant to three apartments with associated storage facilities with all apartments to be used as residential or tourist accommodation – Callow’s Yard Nos 6,8,10,12,14,16,18 & 20 Arbory Street and Fusion Bar Unit located behind 17 – 19 Malew Street, Castletown, IM9 1DQ, for the following reason:
- The proposal is contrary to Transport Policy 7 and Appendix 7, as defined by the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007, in that the proposal would result in an increase in the overall number of residential units such as would result in a requirement for parking spaces not all of which could be satisfied at all times. As such, therefore, it cannot be demonstrated that a reduced level of car parking will not result in unacceptable on-street parking in the locality.
Date of issue: 30 October 2014 By Order of the Minister

Note 1: A copy of the report of the appointed person is appended hereto.
