General Policy 2
GP2 permits development in accordance with zoning if it respects site/surroundings in siting, scale, form, design; does not adversely affect character, amenities, road safety, or views. Officer tested the timber cladding amendment for impacts on appearance, character, townscape, and amenities, finding no material adverse effects due to local precedents of timber use. Approved drawings
This permission relates to the conversion of the workshop to a dwelling as shown in drawings reference 265/1/1, 265/1/3A and 265/1/6 all received on 23rd December, 2010.
Cladding colour
The cladding must be painted or stained dark brown within one month of having been erected on site and thereafter maintained in such a colour.
Do not oppose
Manx Electricity Authority and Highways Division raised no objections with standard conditions regarding utilities and traffic, while Port St Mary Commissioners objected due to the use of cedar boarding not matching the stone building.
