The terrace is a registered building originally constructed in the late 1800s and forms a group with the adjacent Ramsey Youth Centre.
The proposal comprises the removal of existing metal casements, fixed glazed panels, glazing (which is clearly modern) • modern internal secondary glazing of the lounge window of number 37, an end of terrace dwelling.
The present corroded metal window casements and timber frames are of poor condition and have reached the end of their design life, requiring replacement. It is proposed that the glazing and frames be replaced in appropriate materials, a thin double glazed unit by specialists to details as drawing 119_02_610.
The proposed works will preserve the character of the registered building. The stone mullions will be unaffected and the window format will remain the same. A unified approach to the fenestration of the group of registered buildings and therefore an enhancement is proposed. This solution and product has recently been approved in the adjacent Ramsey Youth Centre (PA 13/91016/GB and 13/01017/CON) and is proposed for 41, Mysore Cottages. The product can be viewed at Holly Lodge, Bishops Court, also a registered building and previously approved.
