Broadly support the application but raised concerns about hydrology
Ballaquayle Farm formally objects to the application citing hydrological risks, loss of productive land, crop damage, and regulatory uncertainty, while requesting specific safeguards; Mullen Beg broadly supports but raises concerns about potential upstream flooding.
Key concern: Cumulative hydrological risk to adjoining agricultural land
Ballaquayle Farm
ObjectionI formally OBJECT to the above application and request Interested Person Status (IPS); Without baseline monitoring data from the existing pond, it is impossible to properly assess cumulative impact; The operational burden is effectively transferred onto my land; This proposal presents cumulative hydrological risk, operational land sterilisation, foreseeable crop damage, and long-term regulatory uncertainty; I therefore respectfully request that the Committee refuse planning permission
Conditions requested: Minimum 10-metre internal buffer entirely within the applicant’s land; Professionally certified cumulative hydrological impact assessment; Legally binding drainage and flooding indemnity; Wildlife impact mitigation plan protecting adjoining crops; Explicit confirmation that no condition or future designation shall restrict lawful shooting and pest control on adjoining land
Mullen Beg
Conditional No ObjectionWe refer to the above application which we broadly support; We are somewhat concerned that the proposed storage areas...might result in backing up of our stream and flooding; Whilst reluctant to impose the need for a formal hydrological survey on the Applicant, we do feel that there needs to be some objective work undertaken
Conditions requested: Some objective work undertaken to ensure the proposed works do not create a problem upstream of the site
