PROJECT: 19012: Planning Application: Isle of Man Art Society, Thie Ellyn, Off Withington Road, Douglas IM2 3BF– Roof Covering Replacement SUBJECT: Statement of Proposed Works

The Isle of Man Art Society Building is located off Withington Road in Douglas. The building's roof is currently leaking extensively and requires replacement. The roof is in two parts: An upper roof area of approximately 200m² comprising trapezoidal aluminium sheet over-cladding on a felt covered timber roof deck. The lower lean-to roof area of 80m² is of similar construction on timber battens on timber framework. It is the intention to remove and replace the existing cladding sheets, which are aluminium trapezoidal single sheets, with composite insulated sheets which have a trapezoidal upstand profile. (Kingspan KS1000L P data sheet attached) The exiting sheets have weathered to a dark greenish grey. The replacement sheets are proposed to be mid grey in colour (Kingspan Ref: Merlin Grey) with matching flashings.

Rainwater discharge from the roof collected in existing rainwater gutters and downpipes. The existing rainwater goods will be retained.
