Planning Status
Within the adopted Isle of Man Strategic Plan, the following policy is considered to be relevant to the assessment and determination of this application: General Policy 2, Environment Policy 35
Assessment
The application is seeking planning permission to reduce the width of the existing entrance of the building and to install a window to match the existing windows units of the building. The alteration is relatively minor and will have a neutral affect on the character and appearance of the conservation area.
It is recommended that planning permission be granted subject to conditions.
Party Status
The local authority are, by virtue of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2005, paragraph 6 (5) (c) and (d), considered "interested persons" and as such should be afforded party status.
The Highways Division is part of the Department of Infrastructure of which the planning authority is part of. As such, the Highways Division cannot be afforded party status in this instance.

C 1. The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
C 2. This permission relates to the creation of a new doorway and window to replace the existing entrance doors and altertaion to steps as shown in drawing number A_P_100 and A_P_101 date stamped 25th May 2011.
N 1. This permission does not grant consent for the relocation of the "Appleby" signage, as this would require a separate consent under The Control of Advertisement Regulations 2005.
